A minimum of 200 tickets must be sold for the Thoroughbred ownership share to be awarded. If 200 or more tickets are sold, the winner of the share will be drawn on December 17, 2026. If fewer than 200 tickets are sold, the raffle will automatically convert to a 50/50 raffle, where the winner will receive 50% of the ticket sales proceeds instead of the ownership share.
WHAT DOES THE WINNER RECEIVE?
The winner will receive one share of Pivotal Racing 2026, giving them an ownership interest in a Thoroughbred racing partnership.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY RULES?
All participants must be at least 18 years of age or older to play.
All participants must hold a valid US Social Security card to claim a prize.
All prizes over $599 will be paid by check and the recipient will be issued a W-2G.
For prizes over $4,999, Commonwealth Causes will withhold 24% in Federal taxes and 5% in Kentucky taxes per Federal and State requirements.
Prize winners that fail to comply with eligibility rules will forfeit the prize.
IS THE SHARE FOR ONE HORSE?
No. The ownership interest is in the partnership, which owns a group of Thoroughbred racehorses. This allows members to participate in the experience across multiple horses rather than being tied to a single horse.
ARE THERE ADDITIONAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE OWNERSHIP SHARE?
CAN THE WINNER VISIT THE HORSES?
Yes. Members will have opportunities to arrange visits and experience Thoroughbred ownership firsthand, including opportunities such as visiting the horses at the barn or during training.
ARE THERE OTHER EXPERIENCES AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS?
Yes. The partnership is designed to offer an experience beyond ownership alone. Depending on availability, members may have opportunities to participate in race days, farm and stable tours, mornings at training, educational experiences and other special events.
WILL THE WINNER RECEIVE A SHARE OF ANY EARNINGS?
Yes. The winner will participate in the partnership’s profits and losses based on the ownership interest represented by their share. This includes the results of racing and the eventual sale of the partnership’s horses.
HOW LONG DOES THE PARTNERSHIP LAST?
The current plan is for the horses to train and race through 2028, with the horses expected to be sold around the end of their three-year-old year. After the horses are sold and remaining partnership expenses are paid, proceeds will be distributed among the members based on their ownership interests.
IS THERE A GUARANTEE THAT THE HORSES WILL WIN OR MAKE MONEY?
No. Thoroughbred racing is unpredictable, and there is no guarantee that a horse will win a race, earn purse money or increase in value. The raffle offers the winner an opportunity to experience Thoroughbred ownership, but financial returns are not guaranteed.
IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF TICKETS THAT MUST BE SOLD FOR THE RAFFLE TO TAKE PLACE?
Yes. A minimum of 200 tickets must be sold for the Thoroughbred ownership share to be awarded. If 200 or more tickets are sold, the winner will be drawn on December 17, 2026. If fewer than 200 tickets are sold, the raffle will automatically convert to a 50/50 raffle, where the winner will receive 50% of the ticket sales proceeds instead of the ownership share.
