FOURTH PLACE

Elijah Craig 18 Year

Value $250

The Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon is more than just a premium spirit; it is a homage to a pivotal figure in bourbon history. Elijah Craig, often credited as the ‘Father of Bourbon,’ was a pioneer who revolutionized the industry by aging his whiskey in charred oak barrels, a practice that has become a defining characteristic of bourbon production. This 18-year-old single barrel bourbon, bearing his name, is a testament to his legacy, offering a depth and richness that speaks volumes of its heritage. Aged for an impressive 18 years, each bottle delivers a symphony of flavors including toasted wood, vanilla, and caramel, balanced with warm spices and a hint of smokiness. The modern bottle design elegantly bridges the gap between the rich history of the brand and its current stature in the bourbon world. Each bottle’s contents, drawn from a single barrel, promise a unique and personal tasting experience. The Elijah Craig 18-Year-Old is not just a superb bourbon, it’s a piece of history, offering a direct link to the early days of bourbon making and a tribute to one of its greatest innovators.

FIFTH PLACE

E.H. Taylor Straight Rye – 1-Bottle Collection

Value $250

The E.H. Taylor Straight Rye is a distinguished spirit that pays homage to one of the founding fathers of American whiskey, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. Known for his significant influence on the bourbon industry and his advocacy for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, Taylor’s legacy lives on in this meticulously crafted rye whiskey. This Straight Rye is unique in its composition, made predominantly from rye grain, which imparts a distinctively spicy and robust flavor profile. The whiskey reveals notes of dark fruit, butterscotch, and baking spices, with a hint of mint and a lingering, warm finish. Each bottle is a representation of Taylor’s commitment to excellence, adhering to the strict standards of the Bottled-in-Bond act: a single distillery season, aged in a government-bonded warehouse for at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof. This bottle offers a taste experience that is both historical and exceptionally flavorful, appealing to both rye aficionados and those new to the robust character of rye whiskey.
